Connecting through shared experience.

Community care is our instinct. Our daily routine creates a shared experience that bonds and connects us across all differences. Each retreat is curated with yoga, art, meditation, and talking circles to help fortify your inner strength and bring peace and joy to your heart and soul. This is deep soul work that allows you the experience of witness consciousness as you are seen and known in both your vulnerable moments, and joyful triumphs.

 

ART

Creative sessions are designed to guide you through the journey from a non-linear, non-mental space, connecting with your deep heart. The creative process brings to light unconscious material giving form to intangible thoughts and emotions. Using imagery and guided meditation, explore your sacred visions and create visual reflections of your inner heart.

YOGA

Gentle movement will help to stretch, strengthen, and balance the mind, body, nervous system and spirit energy. Suitable for all with no experience necessary.


MEDITATION

Mindfulness meditation is the development of intentional, understanding, and non-judgmental focus of one's attention on the emotions, thoughts and sensations occurring in the present moment. Guided imagery uses words and suggestions to guide you in visualizing and experiencing an image in your minds eye. This experiencing can help you identify messages from your deep heart, commune with spirit guides, and find a sense of inner peace.

Talking Circles

Platicas will be talking circles for heart to heart talks centered on active listening, heart centered sharing, and confianza (a deep sense of respect and trust). We all agree to hold space and inspiration for each other, so we feel comfortable sharing as we go.

SPIRITUAL SUPPORT

Limpias offer traditional indigenous based energy and spiritual cleansing using smudging (smoke), herbs, fire or ritual along with Prayer to nourish, and cleanse your energy, heart, mind, and spirit.

*To honor the teachings and lineage of Spiritual Healers, there is always an energy exchange given as an offering of gratitude. This offering is not included in the retreat fees and can be anything from a handmade item, spiritual tools (such as tobacco, copal, or ethically sourced smudge sticks), or heartfelt monetary gift.

Celina Jacques

Celina has been hosting Mariposas Retreats since 2016. She specializes in using creativity and ritual for healing the heart, mind, and spirit. She is a 3rd generation de-tribalized Chicana Indigena from the Chihuahua desert, ancestral land of the Rarámuri/Tarahumara people. Celina is an artist, Licensed Psychotherapist and Art Therapist, as well as a student of ancestral healing practices. She has been working in the mental health field, using art for healing for over 20years.  Her artwork is intimately connected with her personal healing and has been exhibited in galleries and exhibitions in the Los Angeles area. Celina’s creative, spiritual, and academic paths converged to support an approach to healing that pulls from artistic expression, ancestral knowledge, and contemporary psychology to reclaim ancient wisdom in new ways. She holds individual therapy sessions online in California, teaches Spiritual and Depth Psychology at Antioch University, offers workshops as a public speaker and consultant, and hosts a membership program for community care as well as holistic wellness retreats in Mexico and California.

Chef and consultant

Chrissy Bear

 

Mother, Sister, Daughter, Friend and Earth Medicine Keeper, Chrissy Bear is a Transformational Life Coach, Vegan Chef, Nutrition Coach, and a metaphysical Herbalist. She holds Astrological and Metaphysical Certifications, and practices Toltec Dreamwork as an Astral bridge builder. Her grand rite of passage into a direct relationship with Source and Earth based living was choosing to birth her three daughters unassisted. By entrusting her own and her children’s lives directly to the hands of Nature, she accepted the Stewardship path. Part of that path is to stand as a firm Pilar and hold space for others coming into the same awareness and connection. Chrissy has maintained a plant based diet for over 20 years, practicing mindful eating, which helps her build a close relationship with courage, and tune into Being with more depth. She has extensive experience as a coach and public speaker, guiding people in improving their wholistic health to achieve a higher level of balance in life. Chrissy holds space for our Ancestral memory to be present and have a voice in the unfolding of One's unique Soul Song. Her purpose is to help you remember that all the answers lie within you.
